About Morgan Bodhi
Personal Background
I was born at home in Eugene, OR to my Japanese mother with the help of two wonderful midwives. I grew up in Eugene, Portland, and on Maui, HI. I am non-binary and queer, and am happily engaged to my partner. I live at home with them and our sweet kitty. While I was growing up, I witnessed my mother's journey becoming a licensed pediatric acupuncturist. I had a front seat to her experiences going through graduate school and creating her practice from the ground up. Her support is a large factor in my inspiration to enter the field of birth work. After I graduated high school in 2021, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted my career to be. It was the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I used that as an excuse to take a gap year. I wanted to give myself the chance to find a career that didn't involve university education. Finally in 2024, after much deliberation, I found my dream career.
My Philosophy
I believe that everyone has the right to safe, informed, and comfortable birth and postpartum care. I know that the language used in the birth work community is often gendered and heteronormative and can sometimes feel unwelcoming to LGBTQ+ couples and families. I am here to support you, and I strive to always be inclusive in my practice.
